The ruling regarding wearing pants

Question:

What is the ruling concerning wearing As-Sarâwîl (pants)? May Allah reward you.

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers until the Day of Resurrection:

If what is meant by As-Sarâwîl is “pants”, so if it is not related to the clothing of the Jewish or the Christians, and it does not represent any civilization like the civilization of the “Cowboys” as Jeans and what is similar to it of the other cloths, also it does not express any racial tendency, not carry any religious motto or a meaning belonging to [a given political] a party and it is not tight to show the shape of the body; then, there is no prohibition to wear it if it does not have the former characteristics and it is counted -with this consideration- among the common international clothing.

The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلَّ; and our last prayer is all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers of Allah are to Muhammad and his Family, Companions and Brothers until the Day of Resurrection.
