The ruling concerning the bride’s going out
wearing a white Jilbâb (veil)
Question:
Is it permissible for the woman to leave home wearing a white Jilbâb on her wedding day?
Answer:
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.
Apparently -and Allah knows best- that is not permissible because it entails the meaning of the garment of fame. It also entails imitating the white wedding dress of the Christians. Therefore, it is better to abandon it and wear another one.
The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلَّ. Our last prayer is all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon our Prophet, his Family, his Companions and Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.
