The ruling concerning a man being employed
in an enterprise wherein he is
under the supervision of a woman
What is the ruling concerning being supervised by a female veterinarian whose business consists of treating chickens in a henhouse belonging to a certain farmer, and I am paid by her; knowing that being and communicating with her is rare and very restricted and limited only to the work and in the presence of the workers of the henhouse (approximately ten workers). Moreover, this work is not permanent but it is done only three days a month. Taking into consideration -our Sheikh- that I am unemployed and I am in need of money? May Allah reward you.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers until the Day of Resurrection:
If the man is employed for a [religiously] permissible job supervised by a woman who is a specialist in the domain and who does not meet the workers except on rare occasions, during a limited time and for need according to what is mentioned in the question; and there is no communication with her except for need and necessity and without softening the speech nor cajoling; then it is permissible to work in such conditions inasmuch as the intermingling [with the woman] is beyond seduction and committing evil deeds.
The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلَّ; and our last prayer is all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers of Allah are to Muhammad and his Family, Companions and Brothers until the Day of Resurrection.
