The ruling concerning the woman who drank intentionally water in Ramadân and menstruated after that

Question:

In one day, during Ramadân, my mother died and because of this calamity I fainted so those who was present gave me water to drink. After a short moment I woke up, and I menstruated afterwards. So, what am I asked to do regarding this day? May Allah reward you.

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers until the Day of Resurrection. This being so said:

When the woman is purified from her menstrual bleeding, she has only to make up the fasts she missed and not make up the prayer. And her drinking of water before menstruating does not affect the ruling. The evidence of the compensation is what ‘Â’icha رضي الله عنها has reported. She said: “During the time of the prophet of Allah صلى اللهُ عليه وآله وسَلَّم, when we menstruated we were ordered to make up the fasting but we were not ordered to make up the prayer(1).

The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلّ ; and our last prayer is all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers of Allah are to Muhammad and his Family, Companions and Brothers until the Day of Resurrection.
